Craving Some Spice, Flavor and Homely Indian Food?
Authentic Indian Food in Austin
As a native of India, that grew up in a family of food connoisseurs, with most days starting with 'what to eat', and going to eat 'what to eat next' :) It didn't just stop there. The discussions sometimes went into sourcing, identifying a good vegetable from a bad one, to how to use spices and the delicate techniques to deploy to suit your mood of the day and how you want your meal made. Yes, they indicate good times - at least that's how I understand it. Therefore, I inherited a strong sense of taste, penchant for flavor and relatively quick discerning of good food from bad. This makes me for on hell of a self proclaimed food-lover-critic. The building blocks were laid and all I had to do is just eat, explore and learn and diversify my taste with those founding principles.
Hard to please? Hell yes.
When we (hubs, +/- kiddos) usually venture to eat out, we go for other cuisines. However there are those days when you just want to eat that south indian meal that is just made right. I was so thrilled to finally find one, not too far from where I live. *yay*
These guys from Biryani-n-Grill may not be the Clay Pit or Tarka in terms of style or flair or ambience, but they get their food right. They do not compromise on the spice as, lets face it - its supposed to be made the way it's made in the region they represent mainly i.e. south India, my birthplace, Andhra Pradesh.
If you stop by at Biryani-n-Grill, ask for Sujan. Tell him, you heard about them from Hema - and you might just get some extra love ;)
